2. Goals and Objectives:

MA 591F is an introduction to mathematical analysis. Students will

develop an understanding of the theory underpinning the calculus.

develop their proof skills in one dimentional calculus.

understand the concepts of the real number system, functions, limits, continuity, differential and integral calculus of one variable, and uniform convergence.

6. Tentative schedule of homework due dates, quizzes and tests

Thursdays will be used for class presentations with the written work turned in on Fridays.
There will be three Tests, scheduled depending on class progress.
The final is on Thursday, August 8 at 8:00 am. It is a 3 hour test.

7. Determination of grades: + and - system

Homework: 10%

Test 1 20%

Test 2 20%

Test 3 20%

Final: 30%

Late homework assignments will not be graded.
